If you like the first movie The Monkey King 1, then you will definitely like this one. This movie is about a battle between the humans and Monkey King's soldiers. As a child, a monkey told a man to give him fruit from a tree. He said, "I can't help you." The monkey king felt so bad that he vowed to protect humans from future animals who might take advantage of them. A few decades later, another monkey tribe got revenge on his people for being so mean to them. They tried to attack the city but their plan was foiled by human soldiers led by General Li Mu Bai because they had been warned by Hong Lao Lao about it. The monkey tribe leader and general were caught and put in prison. General Li Mu Bai was happy to see his wife again but another monkey, Lin Mo Mo, got jealous because she accidentally kissed him when she met him. She decided to get rid of his wife so that he could be faithful to her. She used the magic powder that would turn into a monster and cross into the prison through the toilet area. However, this turned into a giant monster that wanted to destroy the whole city and because of this, it was renamed as The Great Demon King. The monster killed the mayor and injured several guards including General Li Mu Bai. With his dying breath, he told his wife, Mu Guiying, to go to emperor's palace for help because their son was just a small child now.Mu Guiying took off her armor and disguised herself as an ordinary woman. She found her way to the palace just as Emperor Taizong was about to see Lady Bao because he had heard that she was an excellent doctor. Mu Guiying interrupted the meeting because she needed Lady Bao to cure General Li Mu Bai. The emperor asked Le'er, who was Mu Guiying's son, to take care of Lady Bao until she would return with medicine for General Li. The monkey king was able to sneak into the palace through the heating vents. Lady Bao was not able to help Li Mu Bai because his injuries were fatal. She went back with Le'er to Dr. Liu's veterinary clinic where she stayed. When Mu Guiying returned with medicine, General Li Mu Bai died of his wounds. He asked her forgiveness for being so foolish as to have been caught off guard by the Great Demon King monster. Lady Bao told Le'er that she could become a great warrior some day but begged him not to blame anyone for his father's death or seek revenge on them no matter what happened in the future. He replied that he just wanted to stay with Liu Xiao Ling, his favorite animal. Lady Bao accepted the fact that Le'er was not her real son and told Mu Guiying to take him back to her home in the mountains and raise him. Lady Bao and Le'er returned to Dr. Liu's clinic and stayed for a while, but no one could cure Dr. Liu who had been bitten by a snake when she was out foraging for herbs.
